Since its reveal in 2020, the remake has faced a winding development path. Initially scheduled for release in January 2021, the project underwent multiple postponements. Ubisoft shifted development from its Pune and Mumbai studios to Ubisoft Montreal—the original creators of the 2003 classic. This handover resulted in rebuilding the game from the ground up with a new development team.

Ubisoft Toronto Joins the Project

In June 2024, Ubisoft Toronto came on board to support the remake’s development, signaling a renewed commitment to quality. This collaboration reassures fans that the remake will live up to the legacy of the original, promising a polished and engaging experience.

Along with the Prince of Persia remake, Ubisoft’s FY2024-25 roadmap includes several exciting titles such as The Division Resurgence, Rainbow Six Mobile, and Anno 117: Pax Romana. All are targeted for release before March 31, 2026, with further announcements expected throughout the year.
