Front Mission 3 Remake Launches on Nintendo Switch This June

A PS1 Strategy Classic Returns This June
Front Mission 3: Remake will launch on Nintendo Switch on June 26, Forever Entertainment has officially announced. Originally released on PlayStation 1, this modern version will be exclusive to the Switch for now. No other platforms have been confirmed yet. The series began under Square in 1995 and features turn-based tactical gameplay with mech combat and complex storytelling. Front Mission 3 originally launched as a PS1 exclusive and quickly became a fan favorite due to its challenging gameplay. Forever Entertainment previously remade Front Mission 1 and 2, both of which also debuted first on the Switch.
Improved Visuals, New Features & More
Front Mission 3: Remake introduces visual upgrades, smoother animations, and a reorchestrated soundtrack for a more modern experience. A new Quick Combat mode lets players battle freely, separate from the main dual-story campaign featured in the original release. Players will also get new camo customization options to enhance their units’ looks and strategic depth. Despite the changes, the game aims to retain its brutal difficulty and strategic depth from the original PS1 title.
Pre-Orders and Other Platforms Remain Unconfirmed
Forever Entertainment has not revealed if pre-orders will be available or if a demo will launch, like with the earlier remakes. So far, the game is confirmed only for Nintendo Switch. Past releases suggest other platforms may follow later. For example, Front Mission 2: Remake reached PC, PlayStation, and Xbox after a six-month gap from the Switch release.
