Street Fighter 6 Surpasses Five Million Sales After Switch 2 Release

Street Fighter 6 Hits Five Million Copies Sold
Capcom’s fighting game franchise continues to thrive with Street Fighter 6 sales crossing five million units worldwide. The game launched in June 2023 and has steadily grown in popularity thanks to strong support and content updates. At The Game Awards 2024, Street Fighter 6 was crowned Best Fighting Game, further cementing its success.
Nintendo Switch 2 Release Boosts Sales
The sales surge is largely attributed to the recent Switch 2 release on June 5, 2025. Street Fighter 6 on Switch 2 includes exclusive modes and features designed for Joy-Con 2 and cross-play. Capcom sees this launch as an opportunity to grow the game’s audience and long-term player base.
Capcom Faces Backlash Over Physical Release
Despite the excitement, the Switch 2 version uses a Game-Key Card with a limited-time DLC code. Fans criticized Capcom for not adding earlier DLC directly on the physical Game-Key Card for the Switch 2 version. The DLC code expires after two years, sparking frustration in the community.
