Nintendo Pictures Credited in Death Stranding 2 on PS5

PS5 Exclusive Features Nintendo

Nintendo Pictures Worked on Motion Capture for Death Stranding 2

Nintendo’s legacy in gaming reaches unexpected places — even in the PS5-exclusive Death Stranding 2: On the Beach. While the game officially launches on June 26, early access is already available to some players. Fans return as Sam Porter Bridges, journeying across a fractured world to uncover the mystery behind Lou’s disappearance. Surprisingly, Nintendo Pictures is credited in the game’s motion capture. According to VGC, this likely traces back to work the studio did before it was acquired by Nintendo in 2022. Previously known as Dynamo Pictures, the company also handled motion capture for the original Death Stranding.

Nintendo Pictures’ Legacy and Kojima’s Continued Praise

Under its former name, Dynamo Pictures contributed to hits like Final Fantasy 13-2, Nier Replicant, and Persona 5. Now as Nintendo Pictures, it works mostly on first-party Nintendo titles such as Super Mario RPG, Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom, and Super Mario Bros. Wonder. Its continued involvement in Kojima’s world shows the studio’s cross-platform impact. Despite working under Nintendo, its creative work still powers a major PS5 title. Early reviews for Death Stranding 2 have been overwhelmingly positive, praising its story, visuals, and innovations. While PlayStation holds publishing rights, part of the success is thanks to Nintendo Pictures. Their unexpected contribution is now immortalized in the credits.
