The newly launched DS2: On the Beach is gathering strong reviews and top scores on sites like OpenCritic. The sequel continues Kojima’s style of mixing deep stories, experimental gameplay, and big Hollywood talent.
Death Stranding 2’s A Worthy Sequel
Released for PlayStation 5 on June 26, Death Stranding 2 picks up 11 months after the first game. It expands on everything the original did, bringing more action, improved combat, dynamic hazards like floods and rockslides, and new ways to travel.
Fans are loving the game’s big cast too, featuring Norman Reedus, Lea Seydoux, Elle Fanning, Troy Baker, Shioli Kutsuna, and others. Hideo Kojima even thanked the cast in a heartfelt social post after the Death Stranding World Strand Tour 2 stop in London.

Kojima said London’s tour stop was “a truly special night” and he would never forget it. He thanked Norman Reedus, Lea Seydoux, Chvrches, Geoff Keighley, and more for standing by the project.
Referencing the pandemic, Kojima wrote, “We all came together to reconnect the ‘strands’ that were once severed.” He promised he “won’t let go again” and teased “all kinds of things waiting in the future.”
