Splitgate 2 Drops Huge July 2025 Update With Ranked Arena, Weapon Mastery & More

Splitgate 2 just received its biggest update yet, as 1047 Games launches Patch 1.2 this July 2025. The free-to-play sci-fi shooter’s latest patch adds Ranked Arena, Weapon Mastery Skins, and plenty of tweaks to keep players hooked for the summer season.

Splitgate 2’s Player Base Keeps Growing

Splitgate 2 first launched in June and quickly built on the momentum of its predecessor. Players love its fast-paced FPS gameplay and unique portal mechanic. Despite some backlash over pricey microtransactions, 1047 Games listened — cutting in-game costs in half to keep the community happy.

Now, Patch 1.2 aims to build on that trust.

Ranked Arena Arrives With New Competitive Modes

Ranked Arena is one of Patch 1.2’s biggest additions. Players must earn 100,000 XP in other playlists to unlock it.

Once unlocked, you’ll compete to climb from Bronze to Champion across three intense modes:

• Splitball

• Hotzone

• Firecracker

Players earn exclusive weapon charms and badges based on the highest rank achieved each season. More Ranked modes will arrive in future updates.

Weapon Mastery Skins & Challenges

Patch 1.2 introduces Weapon Mastery, rewarding players with exclusive skins:

• Fully level a weapon to unlock Mastery Challenges.

• Complete Mastery Challenges to earn Carbon, Gold, and Proelium skins.

• Unlock 6 Gold skins in a Faction to access the highest Mastery tier.

More Mastery rewards are planned for upcoming seasons.

New Battle Pass: Season 1 Chapter 2

A new mini Battle Pass is live:

• 3 new character skins

• 11 new weapon skins

• Exclusive portal skin

• Emotes, sprays, charms, banners, titles

• 500 Splitcoin and 60 Proelium

The Premium Pass costs 500 Splitcoin (around $4.99). Players can still complete Chapter 1 rewards this season too.

Map & Gameplay Improvements

Patch 1.2 drops a new Takedown map called Simulation Anomaly and updates to Battle Royale and Arena modes:

• Battle Royale: “Last Man Standing” announcement, new Glacier POI, invisible boundaries to prevent flying out of biomes.

• Arena: Players can now rejoin matches if they disconnect, plus new portal walls on Bypass.

Balance Changes & Bug Fixes

Highlights:

• Aeros Rush Ability: Now grants immunity from debuffs.

• Meridian Phasma SMG: Projectile speed growth reduced by 50%, maximum shot size reduced by 20%.

• Numerous performance upgrades for Battle Royale and Onslaught.

• Visual fixes, slippery ice on custom maps, and stability improvements.
