Rumor: Black Ops 7 May Bring Back Iconic Looping Scorestreaks

A credible insider claims that Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 could see the return of looping scorestreaks. This fan-favourite feature first appeared in 2008’s Call of Duty: World at War. Treyarch Studios has yet to confirm the rumour, but fans are already excited at the possibility.

The news arrives as Battlefield 6 enjoys huge success with its first open beta weekend. Meanwhile, Call of Duty players are eagerly waiting for more information on the next entry. So far, only a cinematic trailer from June has been released. The full worldwide reveal is set for August 19.

What Are Looping Scorestreaks?

Looping scorestreaks allow players to earn multiple streaks in a single life and maintain momentum. This mechanic can be divisive. For skilled players, it’s thrilling. For opponents, facing stacked streaks can be frustrating. While Black Ops 6 does not feature looping scorestreaks, leaker TheGhostOfHope claims they may return in Black Ops 7.

Community Reactions

TheGhostOfHope has a strong track record for accurate Call of Duty leaks. Still, players should treat the information cautiously until Treyarch or Activision confirms it. Despite this, the community reaction is overwhelmingly positive. Twitter user BSoloe said, “This should just be in every Call of Duty by default.” Another fan, Frankie, noted it feels “next to impossible” to carry a team in Black Ops 6 without looping streaks.

Why It Matters in the Battlefield 6 Rivalry

Adding popular features could help Call of Duty compete with Battlefield 6. Although Activision seems unconcerned about the competition, Battlefield 6’s beta surpassed Call of Duty’s all-time peak concurrent player count on Steam. With growing frustration over unrealistic cosmetics and gameplay decisions, giving fans what they want might be the key to winning the FPS war later this year.
