First Look: Battlefield 2025 Feels Like Battlefield 3
At the end of the Battlefield Labs reveal video, EA provided a brief 10-second pre-alpha gameplay snippet. While short, it gives fans a glimpse of what the next Battlefield will look like.
What We Noticed in the Footage:
- Classic Battlefield Feel – The dusty city maps, modern military aesthetics, and intense gunplay resemble Battlefield 3 and Battlefield 4.
- Core Battlefield Features – EA describes this playtest as a test of core pillars, including combat, destruction, vehicles, and weapons in classic modes like Breakthrough and Rush.
- No Specialists in Sight – Unlike Battlefield 2042, the footage doesn’t show any specialist characters, hinting at a return to traditional class-based gameplay.
- Improved Destruction Physics – The RPG explosion in the video showcases realistic crumbling effects, potentially a major step up for DICE’s destruction tech.
A Return to Battlefield’s Glory Days?
The next Battlefield seems to be inspired by Battlefield 3 and Battlefield 4, which Battlefield boss Vince Zampella called “the pinnacle of the series.” This shift could win back longtime fans who were disappointed by Battlefield 2042’s controversial specialist system.
