Activision Confirms Call of Duty Warzone Mobile is Shutting Down — Final Updates Incoming

Call of Duty: Warzone Mobile players just got some disappointing news — Activision has officially announced that the game will no longer receive seasonal updates and is set to be delisted from app stores soon.

Launched on March 21, 2024, Warzone Mobile promised console-quality Battle Royale action for gamers on the go. While the game initially generated buzz and made $1.6 million within its first four days, it struggled to maintain momentum. Inconsistent updates and lukewarm community reception in 2025 led to today’s announcement from Activision.

On May 16, 2025, the official Warzone Mobile Twitter/X account revealed that:

  • There will be no further seasonal content or gameplay updates.

  • Players can no longer purchase COD Points or BlackCell content with real money.

  • May 18, 2025, will be the last day to download the game via the Google Play Store and Apple App Store.

  • Social features on both iOS and Android will be retired.

You can still play if you have the game installed before May 19. Servers will remain online, and cross-progression will still be supported across linked platforms.”

While this is the end of the road for new content, players who already own the Season 3 Battle Pass will still be able to unlock rewards. However, future updates tied to Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 and Warzone Season 4 will not be integrated into Warzone Mobile.

Activision confirmed that this decision was due to the mobile title not meeting expectations. Despite strong initial performance, Warzone Mobile couldn’t sustain the scale and polish fans expect from the franchise. That means the focus will now shift fully to console and PC platforms.
