GTA 6 Character Quietly Redesigned After Viral TikTok Claim

GTA 6 Character Redesign

GTA 6 Might Have Already Updated One of Its Characters — Here’s Why Fans Think So

It looks like Grand Theft Auto 6 is already making subtle changes, even before its release. Fans recently noticed that one of the NPCs (non-playable characters) seen in both of GTA 6’s trailers appears to have undergone a quiet redesign, and it’s stirring up a lot of discussion in the community.

While Rockstar Games hasn’t commented officially, many believe this change could be related to a claim made by a TikToker shortly after the first trailer dropped.

What’s Changed in the GTA 6 NPC?

In the first trailer, the unnamed NPC is seen casually greeting a friend. In the second, he appears again—this time striking a pose for the camera. While his general outfit remains the same, fans spotted changes to his hairstyle, facial hair, and accessories. Most notably, his sunglasses now feature translucent lenses, and he’s wearing a backward cap that wasn’t there before.

These tweaks might not seem major at first glance, but when fans on social media started comparing screenshots, the difference became obvious.

The TikTok Controversy Behind the Change

So why the update? One theory comes from TikToker zoeepoppyy, who posted a viral video claiming the NPC looked exactly like him. He joked that Rockstar owed him money for using his likeness and called for the character to be officially named after him.

Rockstar has often parodied real-life figures in GTA, but fans feel this case might have gone too far. To avoid legal issues or negative attention, Rockstar may have subtly changed the character’s design to reduce resemblance.

This isn’t the first time Rockstar has faced such accusations. From the Florida Joker to actress Lindsay Lohan’s lawsuit over GTA 5, the studio has a history of skirting the line between inspiration and imitation.

Final Thoughts

Whether for legal reasons or artistic tweaks, Rockstar is clearly paying close attention to fan reactions. With GTA 6 now delayed to 2026, players can expect more polish, surprises, and possibly even more NPC redesigns.
