Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater Returns with Classic Theme Revamp

Konami has dropped the opening movie for Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater, and fans are already buzzing with excitement.

The new opening includes a remastered version of the original Snake Eater theme, performed once again by Cynthia Harrell.

Though it sounds similar, the mixing has been refined for modern ears, giving the iconic theme a smoother, richer quality.

Opening Movie Offers a Nostalgic Blast

Shared on YouTube, the opening cutscene runs about three minutes and showcases cinematic moments from the upcoming remake.

Directed by Kyle Cooper, the scene is polished and dramatic, avoiding confusion with the long-stalled Metal Gear Solid movie project.

It features signature visuals, including jungle landscapes, enemies, and brief glimpses of key characters from the story.

Metal Gear Solid Delta Snake Eater

Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater is a full remake of the 2004 PS2 title, Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater.

The story follows Naked Snake on a Cold War mission in 1964 to stop a Soviet nuclear threat called the Shagohod.

This version retains stealth mechanics, CQC combat, and Codec conversations while adding modern gameplay elements like over-the-shoulder aiming.

Development Expands Globally

Developer Virtuos has opened a new studio in South Korea to ensure a smooth development process.

The Singapore-based team will also continue production, aiming to meet the game’s official launch on August 28, 2025.

Fans Applaud Song’s Return

Harrell’s voice is nearly identical to the original performance, keeping the signature James Bond-style flair fans adore.

The original song was composed by Norihiko Hibino and played during Snake’s legendary ladder climb near the end of the game.

What’s New This Time?

The game introduces the quick camo system, reworked camera mechanics, and a Snake vs Monkey mode—first seen in past editions.

Fans can expect more updates soon for the PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC editions before the August launch.
