Stellar Blade Reportedly Coming to Nintendo Switch 2 as Shift Up Expands Strategy

Stellar Blade Could Join Switch 2’s Growing Library
Stellar Blade might soon arrive on Nintendo Switch 2, according to a recent report. Originally a PlayStation 5 exclusive, Stellar Blade launched in April 2024 and became a breakout hit. It recently expanded to PC, where it sold over one million copies in under a week.
A new rumor now suggests Shift Up, the developer of Stellar Blade, is planning to bring the game to Nintendo’s new hybrid console. The information comes from Korean outlet PlayForum, which claims the studio has already received a Switch 2 development kit. This move would align with Shift Up’s multiplatform strategy, especially following the PC release’s success.
Stellar Blade nintendo Switch 2 Port May Be in Early Development
Shift Up is reportedly optimizing Stellar Blade for Switch 2’s hardware. Since Switch 2 isn’t as powerful as the PS5, performance tuning will be key. No release window has been announced yet, and no official confirmation has been made.
If true, Stellar Blade would join a list of former platform exclusives now making their way to Switch 2. This includes Cyberpunk 2077: Ultimate Edition, Final Fantasy 7 Remake Intergrade, and Borderlands 4, all expected to release this year.
Nintendo Switch 2 Keeps Attracting Popular Third-Party Games
Nintendo Switch 2 launched with a few first-party titles in early June, but its third-party support is growing fast. Donkey Kong Bananza, Metroid Prime 4: Beyond, and Pokemon Legends: Z-A are just a few upcoming games this year. The system sold 3.5 million units in its first four days, breaking a Nintendo hardware record. Given this early momentum, developers like Shift Up are taking notice.
Shift Up May Also Be Working on Stellar Blade Sequel
Stellar Blade has sold over three million copies globally. Shift Up has confirmed a sequel is in development, though few details are available. It could launch in 2026 based on early reports.
The developer is also working on Project Witches, an action RPG with open-world exploration. If Stellar Blade succeeds on Switch 2, it could lead to more of Shift Up’s future titles landing on Nintendo’s system.
