Shift Up has officially confirmed that a sequel to Stellar Blade is in development, following the game’s massive success on PlayStation 5. The stylish third-person action title became a breakout hit in 2024, and now fans can look forward to even more futuristic action, possibly as soon as 2026.

Released exclusively for the PS5 in April 2024, Stellar Blade quickly sold over 1 million copies in just two months, making it Shift Up’s biggest success to date. Riding high on that momentum, the studio held a highly successful IPO, raising $320 million and confirming its place as a major player in the global gaming market.

What’s Next for Stellar Blade?

In a recent investor presentation (via Insider Gaming), Shift Up confirmed several upcoming projects, including:

• A Stellar Blade sequel

• A “platform expansion” (likely a PC or Xbox version)

• The previously revealed Project Witches, another action game in development

The sequel is tentatively scheduled for release sometime before 2027, and current plans hint at a possible launch window in 2026.

What’s This “Platform Expansion”?

While details are limited, the mention of a “platform expansion” has sparked speculation about potential Xbox Series X|S or Nintendo Switch 2 versions. However, since Stellar Blade was published by Sony Interactive Entertainment, an Xbox port seems unlikely unless exclusivity deals change.

On the PC side, Stellar Blade recently faced a hiccup when it became unavailable in several countries ahead of its June 11 PC launch. Despite this, excitement is still high for the Stellar Blade Complete Edition, which will include:
