Xbox ROG Ally Handheld Unveiled with Game Pass and Steam Support

Xbox ROG Ally Handheld Announced at Xbox Showcase
Xbox and Asus have joined forces to reveal the Xbox ROG Ally Handheld during the Xbox Games Showcase 2025. The Xbox ROG Ally Handheld supports Game Pass, Steam, GOG, and other Windows PC game clients. It launches Holiday 2025.
Two Powerful Models with Custom Xbox Features
The premium model, Xbox ROG Ally X, includes a Ryzen AI Z2 Extreme chipset, 24GB RAM, and 1TB SSD. The base model features a Ryzen Z2A chipset, 16GB RAM, and a 512GB SSD for lighter users. Both versions use a 7-inch 1080p screen with 120Hz refresh and AMD FreeSync for smoother gaming visuals. They also come with Gorilla Glass Victus and DXC Anti-Reflection coating to reduce glare during play.
Design Inspired by the Xbox Wireless Controller
Unlike other Asus ROG Ally devices, both models feature traditional Xbox controller-style grips for a comfortable gaming feel. The inputs match Xbox’s layout, including the D-pad, colored buttons, impulse triggers, and analog stick lighting. Each version includes motion controls, HD haptics, remappable buttons, and customizable options for competitive players.
Enhanced Connectivity and Expandable Storage
The Xbox ROG Ally Handheld offers multiple USB-C ports with power delivery and display support via DisplayPort 2.1. The X model includes Thunderbolt 4 via USB-C 4 for fast data transfers and advanced device support. Both devices support microSD cards and M.2 2280 SSDs for easy storage expansion and upgrades.
Game Pass, Remote Play, and More
Xbox ROG Ally Handheld boots into the Xbox app, delivering a console-like UI experience optimized for portable gaming. You can access the full PC Game Pass library for downloads or stream games using Xbox Cloud Gaming. Remote play is supported for Xbox Series X|S, and players can use Steam, GOG, Epic, and even PlayStation Remote Play.
